They lower self-esteem, make breastfeeding difficult or impossible and, in some cases, cause recurrent inflammation. Inverted nipple correction takes approximately half to three-quarters of an hour. It is performed under general or local anaesthesia. In the case of general anaesthesia, an overnight hospital stay is required. If only local anaesthesia is used, the client can leave the clinic the same day of the surgery. The stitches are then removed after two weeks. An almost invisible scar is left on the treated area.
